Paysafecash enters Mexico

Kiosko, Circle K, Farmacias del Ahorro are just a few popular retail outlets in which Mexican customers can now pay with cash for their online purchases. In July 2020 Mexico joined another 28 countries in which Paysafecash has successfully been launched as an innovative eCash payment method.

Udo Müller, the CEO of paysafecard, a well-established and popular payment option in Mexico, is excited about the launch:

I’m thrilled that, 10 years on, we are now offering Mexican consumers an additional alternative payment method which enables anyone to participate in the world of eCommerce.

This is an important step ahead, especially when bearing in mind that the estimated growth of Mexican eCommerce users lays at 20% for the time frame between 2020 and 2024. Not to disregard the fact that 72% of the population of 129 million Mexicans are the active Internet users. By 2023 this number will be even higher, reaching approximately 101,6 million! The eCash payment option enabled by Paysafecash therefore gains in importance.

Moreover, according to the latest research of the World Bank, only 37% of Mexican people have a bank account. Paysafecash is an obvious solution for cash-based consumers who want to participate in eCommerce and the online payment world. Paysafecash also offers a convenient payment solution for those customers who do have a bank account but do not want to disclose their financial data online.

Its simplicity is another important factor for Mexicans to choose Paysafecash as a preferred secure payment method is: online purchases are completed within three steps – now possible at almost 8,000 payment points in Mexico.
